Alexandra Bracken is the well acclaimed author of Brightly Woven! Suddenly the rains come and with them a magician named North. Wayland North walks into Sydelle's town and life with a flood of rain. Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken. Alexandra Bracken has created a magical and adventurous love story like no other. Sydelle is a girl living in a dry village with her life planned out for her. It tells the story of Sydelle, a girl who leaves with her family in a isolated village, suffering a 10 year drought. Brightly Woven is an enchanting fantasy YA novel. I will pretty much read anything that has some element of magic. I had a few problems with it, but on the whole, it was worth the inter-library loan request! I was particularly drawn to their cuffs and bracelets – Natural agate stones, brightly woven friendship bands and colorful beaded bracelets fixed onto handmade gilded bronze and golden cuffs. But that will soon be fixed since I purchased Brightly Woven last week at Book Depository and I got it this Monday! The world was very visual and easy for me to imagine. This was one of the most unique, refreshing YA fantasies I've read in a long time. Brightly Woven was an enjoyable read, with pretty good characterization and plot. I'm a sucker for wizards, witches, and magic. Release Date: March 23, 2010 Fantasy is my favorite genre, it always has been, so Brightly Woven already had that going for it before I even started. Brightly Woven was recommended by Andye (ReadingTeen.net). I was hooked from the first page.
